iSight compatibility

I did a forum search for this, and read a bit of the thread that was made when the iSight and iChat AV were first announced, but I want to be sure:

Does the iSight work like a regular firewire webcam? Meaning, will it work with Yahoo, MSN, etc., or does it really only work with iChat AV, as is implied by its webpage on Apple's site (and was told to me by my grandpa)?

I never use iChat, I don't like it much, and I think it would be pretty dumb of Apple to make a great webcam and have it only work with a specific Apple program that many people don't use.

although the documentation says it will only work with iChat, i have seen many posts on the web saying that it works so far with Yahoo and iVisit.

The isight works the same as any other webcam from what i've seen from using it. It works with ichat, yahoo, ivisit, ispq, btv pro......

I've never had a prob with any programs that I've tried outside of ichat.
