I have a Mac (Dual 2GHz G5) with fast ADSL and and iSight camera in Australia. My daughter has a PC plus webcam and uses MSN in the UK.

Using aMSN we can chat with video but no audio which kind of makes it expensive when we have to have a long distance phone call at the same time.
aMSN does not support audio.

Is there an application which is compatible with Messenger running on a PC that supprts video AND audio? I don't mind if I have to pay for it.

Just out of curiosity, isn't it possible for both of you to use Yahoo or AIM? Does MSN support AV chatting even on PC to PC connections? I didn't think it did....

Yeah PC to PC it does, on the mac I got not frickin clue. But look into mercury, I THINK they might support it.

I don't want to have to get my daughter to change from Messenger as she has her in-laws and lots of friend all use it. So AIM and Yahoo are not a option, much as I HATE microsoft!

It supports video, but not audio?
Or does the audio just not work? Check your router settings in this case.

If it really doesn't do audio, why are you using the phone for audio and not iChat or Skype instead?

When I used Mercury with a Windows MSN user, we got text and video. But she said that this is how it always had been for her with other Windows users, so I'm not sure. I had been expecting AV. That's why I had asked. Maybe audio+video was something added recently?

I always have problems with Audio and MSN even from PC to PC. Instead i use Skype for sound while using msn for video and chat. Works perfectly.
