isn't better wait to see how 3gs deals with messaging apps?

well, sort of experience (i bought iphone expecting push notifications last summer)
tell me that is better to wait to see how the flow between messaging apps and push notifications works (if is ok to stop an app to reply someone and go back resuming the other app)
if the interval between app switching is fast, iphone may be a good deal to get a new phone, otherwise, it will better to wait for a good communicator plataform or go for pre.
