For some reason a lot of my daily apps were offloaded during the last update and not just some unused apps, daily apps and works apps even DM apps, I missed many messages because of this.

My feedback is sent but has anyone else experienced this?

My understanding is that it just triggers the auto-offloading feature so that the upgrade can be downloaded and installed.

You'll then need to search for the little cloud icons and re-load each app.

No.
The amount of space taken by the apps is tiny compared to the typical app data, so I have never seen the point in activating the auto offload option. I would turn it off while beta testing.
