Iso 6 update to 4S and can't connect to yahoo mail

Updated iPhone 4S with new iOS operating system 6 and it won't connect to yahoo mail. I deleted the account and had to delete history and cookies b4 it would let me add my account again. Opened up mail and it just says connecting and spins as if its trying to connect. I can access my yahoo acct using safari. Turned phone on and off again ... Doesn't fix it , I would appreciate any assistance.. Thanks
