ISO Image?

I'm trying to install Windows 8 on my 2013 Mac. I purchased Windows from the store and downloaded it. It's currently sitting on my desktop as an exe. file.

I open up boot camp assistant and begin the process, but when it asks me to select the ISO image, all the files on my computer are greyed-out, including the Windows exe file.

So how do I get an ISO image?

You purchased an upgrade? Do you have another version of Windows? Like 7? Install that, then open the .exe there. Did they give you a serial?

Because it asks for an .ISO file extension, not a .EXE extension.
You need the ISO otherwise it won't work, that simple.

1. Do you have access to windows? If so you can extract the files to a folder from the exe and create an iso with ultra iso.

2. This is for running windows apps on osx, not sure how or if it works, for possibly doing the extraction and creating iso.

any update if this process works? I just purchased Windows 8 and have an .exe file and am in the same predicament as well. I do not have access to a Windows based computer.
