I have CenturyLink as my ISP and have for used them for 15 years or so going back to when they were Qwest. They've always been more reliable then Comcast with very few outages in all those years.

Over the past year or two, I have noticed that they have started throttling some usenet downloads. These are mainly new "releases" to be vague, and older downloads are at my ISPs top speed. We're talking such as 10bs instead of several Mbps. Getting those same offerings through torrents is fine.

Anyone using usenet on Comcast having the same issues? I am thinking of switching over just for that reason although CenturyLink doesn't seem to be enforcing their supposed 250GB bandwidth per month limit. I've gone through 350GB this past week alone so I hate to leave them plus, they will be offering 100Mbps speeds later this year for most areas.

Also, if you have any ideas on how to bypass this throttling for selective usenet offerings, let me know.

Thanks
