Issue copying large zip file....deletes by itself after completing copy

I'm trying to copy a 73GB .zip file of all my pictures from my NTFS external HDD to my new 15in rMBP. It will go through the entire process, but when it finishes it deletes the .ZIP file from wherever I save it to. It doesn't matter if I try to copy or move it, does it every time. Does anyone have any idea why or what I can do to fix it? I know OS X cannot write to a NTFS drive, but it can read from it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
