Hey guys,

I'm trying to use my HP w2207H widescreen flat-panel monitor as a primary display with my new MacBook Pro. When I go to the screen res settings, the best choice seems to be 1680 x 1050 however the top and left/right sides are cut off so I can't see the apple menu bar items or the top of drop-down lists.

I've tried all the settings and none of them eliminate this problem.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to have my HP screen show the exact same real-estate as the MacBook's screen?

I'm using an Apple mini-display to HDMI cable.

Thanks!

I also have this issue but I have a older 22" dell monitor. I have read about this for my monitor and other people have said that the monitor zooms in because it thinks a DVD player is hooked up. I have not tried it but people say the solution is plugging into the monitor via dvi. Hope this helped.

Thanks. I assume you mean VGA 15 pin D type as it's the only other port besides HDMI.

I'll have to get a mini display to VGA to try.
