I've been having this problem in both Firefox and Safari, so I'm pretty sure it's not specifically a browser issue.
When I publish a blog on the website I'm working on, I need to add embedded links and pictures. All of a sudden, I can't get either to work in Firefox or Safari. I even changed servers and started using WordPress in hopes that would help, but can't get anything to work. (And, since you might ask, no one else is having these issues using the same servers, etc.)
The issue is this: when I click on the "embed HTML" button, a popup should come up with the text highlighted and allow me to embed a link in it-- almost exactly like you would see in a Gmail message when embedding links, if that helps. Instead, a blank window appears and there's nowhere to type or copy-paste text-- I can't embed HTML or links. In WordPress, I can't even see the button to click on to insert pictures. I disabled Safari's popup blocker and my Firefox doesn't have one. I also cleared the cache and cookies, still nothing.
After speaking with tech support, I reinstalled OS X with an archival installation. Some of the problems went away-- in one blogging server, CS, I can now do embedded links, but the HTML popup is still just a blank window, no spaces to place text. The other server, under WordPress, now allows me to embed HTML, but I still don't see the buttons that are supposed to be there to embed a picture.
Any ideas? I really, really don't want to have to wipe everything and try to start over with fresh installs of Firefox and OS-X and whatnot... but if I have to, I have to...
PS The first picture is the HTML window as it looks now in CS. The second is how Word Press looks-- it's incomplete-- for example, it doesn't have buttons to insert photos and there is no "publish" option, which is supposed to be set to.
