Long story short.. both phones running 8.0.2

Upgraded wifes 4s through the provider to iPhone 6, then swapped sim cards with my iPhone 5. So, I am using the 6 and wifey is using the 5.

After swapping out the sims, I backed up the data on her 4s, wiped the 5, then restored the settings on the 5 from her 4s back up.

In her contacts, she does not have iPhone available as a device tag, just home, mobile, etc. No iPhone. It seems that iMessage and facetime is still working, but I just find it weird.

Any Ideas?

It's somewhat odd--is she using iCloud for her contacts or something else?

That said, the phone number "header/identifier" is really for informational purposes and isn't really related to iMessage or anything like that, so things should be working just fine without at as well.
