We have an iPad Air and iPad mini which will both connect to the Apple TV with no issues.
However, we also have an iPad 4th Gen which sees the Apple TV but will not connect.
All iPads running 8.0.2 and Apple TV has the latest update.
I have tried switching the 4th Gen off and on but that makes no difference and I have reset the Apple TV.
I discounted the Apple TV issues being reported after the latest software update as the other two iPads work fine. However just for information the Apple TV is always on, never sleeps, and it is on an Ethernet connection.
