issue with keyboard input

I'm having trouble with keyboard input on my apple TV 4K, and whenever i try using keyboard input on my iphone it tells me that i need to turn on home sharing in order to use it. But when I check my phone and my ATV, I already have it on. Help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using the latest iOS update.
