Issue with Locking/unlocking and the touch id

So i noticed that sometimes when i press the lock button, the phone goes to sleep, but doesn't make the "click" sound... In that case, touch id also doesn't work - it either doesn't read my fingerprint or just says "unidentified print" so i have to use the pw.... Once i try to lock it again, if it makes the click sound, touch id works...or sometimes it goes through a few lock/unlock cycles before it starts clicking to lock again.... Anyone else encounter this? Just wondering if a restore might help, or if a genius appt. is warranted....
