So when ever I put my Apple Watch on charge using the MagSafe duo, I frequently have an issue where the watch face lights up randomly. It happens regardless of whether it’s in night stand mode or lying flat. The charging automation triggers - the lighting bolt and the charging ring flashes up. It usually happens 10 or so times per night. Possibly more but I’m asleep so I don’t notice it.

what could be causing this? Judging from a quick Google, I haven’t seen many others with the issue.

anyone else out there experience this?

First thought would have been nightstand mode, maybe create a more stable base for the charger? I do not face such an issue on my duo. You could always return it. Or try a different cable +adapter

It’s lying flat on my desk. And it happens regardless of if the watch is charging flat or in night stand mode. The cable and wall plug are both genuine Apple 30w.
I’ve spoken to Apple and they are going to send me a new one.

That is good customer service. One of the big reasons I stay with and recommend Apple. It sounds like the cord or the mat wasn't able to keep a constant flow the causing the watch to reconnect several times during the night. Hopefully, the replacement will be problem free.

I had this issue with one particular third party charger. It’s been fine with better quality chargers.

I had this issue when charging my watch from my iPad Pro via USB C charger, but it was a few years ago now. Software updates seem to fix it for me.
