So let me explain here what is happening!

On Friday I took my MacBook Pro which is under Applecare+ for a screen replacement since my cat messed up the screen.

I get a call Tuesday its ready for pickup! when I get home, I noticed the back plate had a small dent and the monitor wasn't properly aligned.

go back on Wednesday for those issues.

its ready on Thursday go pick it up. when I get home I noticed that when I open the lid it makes a grinding noise like if the Clutch cover is hitting something and the flex cables are much more visible now! screen aligned is a little worse now. since its not flush on the back and I can feel where it ends and starts. Back plate is fixed!

I have to go back today now for this **** and I am going to talk to a manager.

I do want to ask for compensation for all this. do. you think I might be eligible for a MacBook replacement rather than repair at this point? or what type o compensation should I ask for?

thanks for any help

Just curious as to how the screen was messed up by the cat. Did the device drop to the floor or something like that? That would potentially impact the ability to replace a screen if the frame that supports it was distorted in some way.

Are there any other Apple Stores in your area? Perhaps another store would serve you better as the current one seems to keep trying to put a square peg into a round hole so to speak. Of course it could be very possible that all the repairs are done at a central location other than where you have been taking it and they all end up at the same place anyways.

Consider the damage that was done and how it happened. If it is at all possible that the frame was damaged, it's possible that you can't just replace the screen.

All the cat did was scratch the screen like all over the screen there was no more damaged besides that

Along with @barbu's advice, test it while you're still in the store this time.
Yea I glance over it but they make you sign right away. I’m not going to sign this time until it’s verified it’s all good.

and look how the flex cables are seen now

laptop is closed that is the view of the back of the computer

this is a classic and present example of apple is trying to get away with lame cheap repairs
then bribe politicians to shut down repair shops so they can stop repairs all together.
anyways
is the macbook new?
if so get a new one
then again depending where you live the tech repairs people could be unqualified.

I saw so much bad service in Madison WI and Paramus NJ as a passerby.
people would go right back in complaint their  product had a new issue.

during 2005 I help stock th Paramus NJ store on a freelance basis, did a great job,
but was not hired to work in the store because I was honest, some manager said.

but I hope you get your MacBook working as new.

mu cat knocked over my MacBook Air in 2017 and I could not type "q-p"
until dec 26 2019 when I luckily attached the ribbon from the trackpad to the logic board perfectly.
they are great computers, but need that extra effort to run.

If you have AppleCare+, then they really need to make this right. Have you tried calling the AppleCare phone number? Might be worth it to explain what’s been happening and see if they can help you find somewhere else to have it repaired properly.

I went back yesterday to the store, the manager super friendly refunded me the $99 apple care incidental fee.

they fixed the flex cable which was installed wrong. (right there in the spot) and they ordered a new display for my MacBook Pro just out of precaution I should be getting a call this weekend to go back and drop off the computer to replace the display again.

well that is a good ending we hope
shame that you had to go back, bit at least there is a light in the tunnel

 is weird who they hire, I worked at an authorized apple tech store in a big10 campus repairing everything
they never contacted me when I applied to their store many years ago.

Sometimes, if they screw up the repairs enough, they can replace the machine with a refurb or new machine. I had a 2012, and they gave me a 2013 after like the 5th or new 6th repair in store, because they of course didn’t have any 2012s in stock any more.

This happened to me twice - my launch day 2012 15” rMBP had quite a few issues relating to the GPU, dead pixels in the display, and so forth - eventually Apple replaced it under warranty withe a Late 2013 15” with double the storage (since the base model didn’t come with a dGPU). Right as the extended warranty was about to expire on that machine, I had a trifecta of issues, starting with a bad battery and cumulating in a twice-shorted SSD which resulted in my current 2018 MBP.

OP, accept nothing but the best from AppleCare repairs. Apple will make it right.

I emailed Tim Cook last week about this issue and yesterday I get a call from apple’s executive office! Even gave me a case number regarding the issue.

I told her I got a call from apple yesterday that the part arrived and I am going Friday for the repair. to keep her informed of the outcome and that my issue will be taking care of even if she has to get involved.

good for you again
 does listen, they remedied 4 of my complaints, not personally but still they will fix their errors.
and then call everyone after the problem was solved.

I had a similar experience and they replaced the MBP with a new one after three failed repair attempts. They will not replace with a refurbished product or that was the policy at the time.
