Help!!!!

Bought 2 iPhones. Sold one. Kept carton closed. Sent and they got it today

They can't activate without me giving them my ss#. No way I'm doing that. So when they put the phone on iTunes it asks for it.

Help!!!

This is a problem with every new release. Get them to send the phone back and activate it for them.

U.S. carriers normally require a credit check for any new contract, which they cannot do without a SS#. It is BS, and of course I don't trust them to not use that information for more than just a credit check, nor do I trust them to keep it secure, but that's not unusual. You want a phone on contract, you give up information, that's just the way it is, unfortunately. But in your case no, they should not be using your SS#. Maybe they just misunderstood the instructions?
