Issue with syncing songs to iPhone

I'm having a strange issue with syncing songs just recently... the playlist will appear on the phone, but none of the songs will be in it.

In my options for syncing, I have selected to sync all of my music, not just certain selected items.

Even more strange, when I see my iPhone on the iTunes sidebar, if I expand it to see its contents, and look at the playlist, it shows the songs in there, but when I go to the playlist on the actual phone, the songs are not there.

I'm confused... has anyone had an issue like this?

I had this issue also on my iphone some songs were missing on different playlists.

I heard a restore fixes it but I re did the playlists and seemed to fix the problem for me.

Are you using smart playlists or normal playlists?
