Little bit of history...

I originally purchased SR 15" MBP back in Jan 08 of 2008. After few months of use, I started to notice the following issues:

1. MBP not waking up from sleep.
2. If it does wake up, mouse movement is sporadic.
3. If it does wake up, WiFi connection would be lost so I would have to disable WiFi and re-enable WiFi in order for it to connect to my network.
4. WiFi wont connect to my network even with the correct password.
5. Trackpad movement is very "jerky".

Being fed up with these issues, I spoke to someone at Apple and they replaced my laptop.

After getting my replacement MBP with a 15" MBP Penryn model, I no longer have these issues. I even have iStat running.

I know that a lot of people are having these issues so perhaps its not the software that's causing these issues but actual hardware.

17 " Hi-RES is Flawless

I have had my 17" 2.5Ghz Hi-Res for a few days it is flawless. No yellow, no noises, everything works great.... and the screen... ah a thing of Beauty!

Hmm, I was almost set on buying the refurbished version that you had originally had for $1749

Refurbished MacBook Pro 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
15.4-inch widescreen display
2GB memory
160GB hard drive
8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256MB of GDDR3 memory
Built-in iSight Camera

But now I'm greatly considering purchasing the new model. Is it worth the extra $350CA?

I had the 2.6 SR but list of issues but now with 2.6 Penryn, couldnt be happier. I cant imagine everyone with SR having this issue so it must be a select batch.

For me, I couldnt be happier with this new model.
