Issues opening Quark 8.5 files on PC

In Quark 8.5, files created on mac are crashing when trying to open on a PC. Client has Quark 8 for PC. She says the extensions are missing.
Any ideas how to fix this? :confused:
Would one fix be to have them add the .qxp extension?

Now she is saying they can open if they hold down the control key... what is up with that?
