I am not sure if my searching skills are just lacking on this one or if I am using to broad keywords, but I just cannot seem to figure out how to change the time zone in Tahoe with it installed in Parallels as a VM... The time zone in settings is greyed out and stuck to Pacific Daylight Time. Any ideas how to fix this?

I have set the network adapter to bridged and verified I am getting the same location via IP using whatismyip. Can this setting even be changed when running it in a VM?

Nevermind. All I had to do was type the closest city to me in the Closest City field and it automatically changed the Time Zone field...

I am leaving this thread up though for anyone who searches this later on.

Second issue popped up. Weather app cannot find my location. Location Services are turned on for the app but location still not showing up. This is both in the app itself and widget on the desktop.

Installing Parallels Tools should also fix the time (as well as adding support for copy & paste between guest and host OS).

As for location services, I don't think that is supported in VMs. macOS uses nearby Wi-Fi networks to determine your location (link). The VMs don't have a Wi-Fi adapter, so it's unable to see nearby networks; therefore no location services. When I open Maps, it tells me to turn on my Wi-Fi to allow Maps to determine my current location.

It may work if you connect a USB Wi-Fi adapter to the VM, based on Parallels Support.

There is a setting in Parallels to bridge the WiFi adapter. I am gonna try that tomorrow just to see what happens. I have a few WiFi dongles I can try too. Just to see what happens. It’s not the end of the worlds since I’m just testing everything out.

I appreciate the insight.
