Universal Issues signing up for Apple News+

I have attempted numerous times over the past several hours to sign up for the free trial of the Apple News+ service. I click the “Try it free” button. The payment dialogue appears. I double click the power button on my iPhone and the transaction appears to complete.

Only it doesn’t.

I cannot access the paid articles (which are covered by the “Try it Free” banner and the subscription is nowhere to be found in the subscription management area in settings.

I’ve seen a few others who’ve reported this issue.

Anyone successful in resolving?

Found the solution.

Settings > iTunes & App Store > Apple ID > View Apple ID > Payment Information > then update your payment info and tap done

Went back into News App, purchased the free trial, and it worked.

You’re a genius! I had to completely re-enter my payment credentials. Annoying but I’m in!
