Hi all,

I'm new to these forums...I've been having issues trying to upgrade from the 10.6 to 10.8 operating system on my macbook pro. When I d/l'd the upgrade from the App store, a message came & told me I had to shut down & restart my computer in order to complete the installation (which I did); but now whenever I attempt to finish the installation, it keeps re-directing me to a screen that says: "The Volume "Macintosh HD" is damaged & can't be repaired." <see .jpeg below>. I tried running a verify disk permissions on the volume: "Macintosh HD" and noticed some discrepancies for some read/write permissions (that I may/ or may not have put in place) But it seems weird that I would change something so drastic that it would deny me access for installing OS x 10.8 on my own HD:-X Does anybody have an easy work around for this?? Right now, I just have my MacBook Pro and a charger cable... no usb-drive or additional external hard-drive on me. Thanks for any/all of the support you can provide8).

peace & love.

-Greg
