Hi All,

I have a 2015 rMBP running Monterey 12.7.6 & Mail Version 16.0 (3696.120.41.1.10).

I have multiple email accounts in the Mail Sidebar.

However, the Junk Folder that was there in previous MacOS Versions is not there anymore.

If I accidentally delete emails from the Delete Tab in the Top Menu Bar, often (but not always), when I select Undo Delete, nothing happens - the email(s) I just deleted do do appear back in Mail.

Previously, I was able to just go in to the Junk Folder & recover them but now am not able to do so with the Junk Folder missing.

How can I get the Junk Folder back so I can recover deleted emails & why is Undo Delete not working on some emails & working on others?

Many Thanks

There are a couple of ways of doing this if your junk folder is really gone.
Someone else will probably tell you different but the first thing would be to create a new folder and call it something like junk .
Then you go to the bar at the top - Mail>settings>accounts.
For each email account you will see 3 tabs 'Account info, 'Mailbox Behavior' and' Account settings'.
(I assume. I haven't updated to Tahoe yet so apologies if this is no longer true but it has been for the last 16 years)
Choose Mailbox behaviour and and there is a setting for the junk mailbox.
Point it at the folder you have created and do this for each of your mailboxes. Then they will all be in one folder.

Hi Ruggy,

Thanks kindly for the reply!

Do I have to create a separate Junk Folder for each of my various email addresses? I ask as I recall in my previous MacOS versions, there was just a single Junk Folder in the Mail App Sidebar?

How would I go about creating a new Folder & naming it Junk that will act & serve for all my various email addresses? Say I have 10 email addresses - if possible, I would like a Single Junk Folder to serve them all?

Many Thanks!

Deleted mails go to the trash/bin not the junk folder.

Also, I've noticed if I delete a mail and then quickly ⌘Z to undo the delete, it "vanishes". It actually ends up in a mailbox called "Recovered mails" or some such in the "On My Mac" mailbox.
