Loving Apple Watch. Notice some issues wearing the watch while driving and wondering if there are any work-arounds.

One, my iPhone is mounted on the dash and when I get a notification it bypasses the lock screen and goes to the watch. Problem is while I'm driving I'd prefer the notification to light up the lock screen because it's "safer" to look at than to look at my wrist. So should I just put the watch in airplane mode or is there an easy way to temporarily mute the watch while in the car?

Two, as my hand rests on the steering wheel the screen is constantly turing on because the movement of the wheel. Would be great to have a shortcut to turn off raise to wake.

Anyone have any suggestions for these issues?

All you have to do is take your watch off. If skin contact is broken with the watch notifications will only go to the iPhone.
