So I was changing external HDDs for my macbook. I was converting from a firewire HDD to a networked one. I copied the backup folder and put it "temporarily" on my imac. Turns out it has taken me longer than anticipated to complete the project. I just noticed that my imac is opening things like microsoft word from the backup folder and not from my app folder on my imac. This has caused a problem with my software updater not working properly. Is there any way to tell my imac not to open apps from the backup folder?
