Issues with IMAP mail

We changed to a new mail server in work and now my mail is all messed up on my iPhone. Tells me one minute that I have 42000 new mails and then a minute later I have -3 mails (yes, negative 3!!). What is going on? Also, each time I open the mail app I do not see any mails but instead the prompt to "Load more messages". This never happened on the last server. Is the issues on my side or on theirs?

Thanks but have done that 3 or 4 times now but no change. Are there any known compatability issues between the iPhone and different IMAP server versions? What questions should I ask our IT team about the server?
