Hi guys!
I have a problem with my iPhone 5 whereby occasionally when it drops to 20% the phone will turn itself off and when I try to turn it back on it'll tell me to plug it in to recharge it. After a few minutes it'll turn itself back on, only to do it again. It only seems to resolve when I plug it in and fully charge it.
A guy in Apple did a battery test and it showed it was performing around 90%, so way in to the green. He advised me to reset the phone as new, which I've done and it's still happening.
He said because I bought my iPhone in September 2011 my 12 month warranty has expired and I'd have to buy a refurbished iPhone at £120.
I've not damaged or dropped my phone so where do the customers stand when it comes to statutory rights? Surely if it's a problem caused by the manufacturer then they should fix or replace it?
