Issues with running full-screen on external monitor

Hey guys,

I'm running a game in 'full screen' mode on an external monitor. When I have the laptop screen selected the top menu bar shows over the full-screen game on the monitor.

Moreover, when I select the game, I lose the dock and menu from the laptop screen. Any ideas what might be causing this?
