Issues with SD card slot

I have a Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo (8 GB) full of pictures that I want to transfer to my Macbook Pro. However, the adapter I have doesn't fit into the slot. The memory stick alone fits into the slot and I thought that would work since it has on my PC in the past, but that doesn't work either. What kind of adapter do I need to get? thanks

Sony Memory Stick ≠ SD Card. It won't work, they are different technologies.
