I've recently noticed that if I try to set an alarm sound using Apple Music it always defaults to the Radial tone. I can't use anything different for some reason, although my old alarms will still play the Music I picked out a while ago. Just can't pick anything different. I have 2 16 PM and both act the same for setting music for the sound. 1 is running iOS 18.3.1 the other is running 18.4 beta 3. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks.

I’m on iPadOS 18.3.1 and do not experience that issue (verified just now). I don’t know if it’s required or if it’s relevant in your case, but perhaps the track you want to use needs to be downloaded (mine are).

I have the songs downloaded. I'm wondering if they have to be purchased and not just downloaded using Apple Music subscription. The other songs I use/used were bought quite a while ago. Not having much luck with changing to anything else at the moment. I'll probably contact Apple support to see what they can suggest.

For what it’s worth, the songs I use are purchased. That might be the reason. I’m not an Apple Music subscriber, so I can’t compare the two.

I had the same issue and discovered that songs downloaded that were "Dolby Atmos" or "Lossless" couldn't be used as alarm sounds for some reason. I deleted the song I wanted to use, turned off Dolby Atmos and Lossless, then downloaded the song again and it worked. I then turned on Dolby Atmos and Lossless after downloading.

Thanks for that, I'll give that a go.
