Hi! I have a 5 month old Macbook pro, no damage on it whatsoever - I'm very careful with it!

I downloaded the most recent software update yesterday - didn't pay much attention to it - but somehow the computer messed up while installing it. I'm not quite sure what happened, only that it was suddenly turned off. I turned it back on and it seemed to be fine. However, after that, Safari has been constantly freezing my computer - I can't force quit, the screen + mouse are frozen. It happens often when I am trying to secure a wireless internet connection when I first turn it on or after I have streamed a few minutes of TV.

The freezes are quite sporadic. Sometimes I will turn on my computer, only to have Skype pop up, and the whole thing will freeze. Other times it will take an hour of surfing the internet before it freezes. The fan often whirs a lot when this happens.

I have NO idea why it has been doing this for the past day or so - I haven't ever dropped it, bashed it, nothing! Please help! :(
