Issues with the books app

Playing with the new books app and it seems after I open a book (that I am reading) and close the book I see a “new icon” indicating the book has not been yet opened. This definitely looking like a bug because I never had this issue with the previous iOS 15 books app.

I’ve seen this since iOS 15. Last read such that books are sorted as such seems to often also reset. Since iOS 15 and still, another issue collections aren’t syncing for me.

At least vertical scroll mode and rendering performance such as clicking links to go somewhere else in a book is somewhat decent again. iOS 14 is perhaps really the only version that has overall worked decently for me since the Home screen redesign years ago.
