Hi all,

I recently got my new iMac 21.5' (the skinny one) and have successfully installed OSX onto my SSD drive. Which is connected by a usb 2.0 external caddy, which was all booting fine.
Though thats great so went and bought myself a USB 3.0 external caddy. I cant get it to show on boot and only shows up in OSX if I unplug the drive and plug it back in once loaded in.:confused: (It shows as USB3 in the system profiler once Ive done so).

Any ideas guys.

Thanks!

I have one that shows up fine. It may be the particular controller. You may need to try another one, but first switch ports and disconnect the 2.0 one while testing. It should work. If you hold OPT key down, it doesn't show up when booting in the list?

I only have the usb3.0 caddy with the ssd in. I dont get anything by the original drive, recovery and windows show up. Its weird as once I'm into osx it doesnt show straight away I have to unplug the drive and plug it back in to get it to show.
What caddy do you have?
