Apple employee walk in stock is available despite Apple Store app showing unavailability. Only if stock levels above certain # does it show for pickup.

Yesterday went by Fort Worth store and got 44 stainless despite app showing none. Decided I also want a SBSS. Set an alert at istocknow for the SBSS.

I went by FW store an hour ago and nothing in stock but they said they get big deliveries on Tuesday and they were unpacking many boxes. Left and went to eat. Got alert at 11:56 that SBSS with sport band in stock at FW. Grabbed it. More still showing now on app. Stainless with white sport band also showing available on app.

Lucky you, I had a SBSS Loop show up 90 miles away from me this morning but didn't feel like making the drive... It will show up eventually, looks like a lot of stores are being restocked today.

Is there a way to reserve a device once it shows as available on the istocknow? Or do you just go to the store and ask them for one by saying that you know it’s in stock?

If it appears on iStocknow it is also on apple.com or Apple Store app for reservation. It’s just that there may also be WALK IN ONLY stock. That I’m told is because Apple does not update inventory for pickup unless a certain number available to avoid false reservation duplicates.

But is it possible to book on Apple.com or Apple Store app without paying? Just reserving & paying in cash at the store?

Not positive, but seriously doubt it. You make your reservation to pick up as part of the payment process.
