Ok, i tried searching but havent seen anyone with the same problem i have.

I open iSync, and it pops up in the app bar, then dissappears and automatically shuts itself down. I downloaded the 1.5 installer from Apple, and it still does the same thing. Anyone know why?

what are you trying to do with it?

at this point, just getting the program to open so i can sync it up with my motorola slvr l7. but i havent even done anything but double click the app icon to open the program, and immediately it shuts down.

Look in <your user name>/Library/Preferences. There should be two files in there called com.apple.isync.plist and com.apple.isync.registry.plist. With iSync closed, try dragging those to your Desktop. Then open iSync and see if it still crashes.

Do you have the right version for your version of OS X?

If you're on Tiger as you say, you should be running iSync 2.3, which came out as part of the 10.4.7 update.

i have the same problem... and opened a new thread... (my fault, saw this thread to late). if i get new cognitions i`ll tell you.

Hey!

I tried moving .plist files to desktop, moving SyncServices folder, and many others things...and at the end, I tried duplicating iSync.app (right click on iSync.app , select "Duplicate" and it creates iSync copy.app) and it worked!!!

I'm 99% sure that the problem began the day I installed Flip4Mac on my MacBook. Thanks Craig for your help!!!
