This has been in my head for a long, long time... But only recently has this issue been bugging me.
Sometimes I fall asleep while listening to music on my iPod. And if I want to change tracks or something (At night) that backlight is_so_unnecessarily_BRIGHT! It burns
... I mean, I really don't need it to be that bright as long as I can see whats on the screen...
So my question being is, has there been a hack that will dim the iPod's backlight? I can dim the iPod's backlight if I go to diagnostic mode, so I know the iPod's hardware is physically capable of doing so, I just want it to stay that way.
It might also help save battery a bit
My iPod: 40GB 4G B/W
BTW - I wouldn't mind hacking it/erasing it in the process if needed (I keep all my music backed up, and have firewire)
I know my iPod is out of date, but I guess its worth posting to see if anyone around here knows
Thanks
