I was suprised at the fact that there was a black colored version of the new MacBook. I am so used to the color white being prominent in Apple products, but I suppose the black iPod gave some what of a foreshadowing. Do you guys think they will begin to turn more and more of their products to black?

Only the consumer line (iMacs and iBooks). The Pro line will remain silver imo.

Also I don't feel the mini is a consumer or pro computer, its a thing of its own, something for consumers and professionals to buy, first mac for consumer and media centre for professionals. Hence the half alu, half white design.

You do realize that until the Blueberry iBook and the Titanium Powerbook that all Macintosh Portables were black.

If anything Apple is going back to what they used to do.

Personally I think the black looks terrible. I like my white, it dosnt look like a Mac with the black.

Just kinda looks like a VAIO to me..........:(

All that black MacBook needs is a tiny rainbow Apple centered just below the screen. Move the label "MacBook" over to the right hand side, and add a new label that says "Macintosh" on the left. Call it the MacBook classic, make it a limited run collectors edition.

I wouldn't go *that* far. I hold my ground, squished old Pismo:

Now imagine that... squished. Macbook Black.

The Pismo and Lombard Bronze Keyboard PowerBooks were always such beautiful machines. I actually like them better than the new iBook design. Although the new black iBook is pretty cool.
