I have a PowerMac G5 1.6 GHz 2 GB Ram that doest want to read DVD-R discs anymore. when i put one in the comp tries to read it for about 30 seconds and then ejects. But it DOES read BLANK DVD-R. :confused: idk what's going on. i tried zapping the P RAM but that didn't work. My MBP reads them fine.

Please Help :apple::apple:

I'd try blowing compressed air into it - or even using one of those "cleaning CDs" (they have very soft brush attached to part of the CD, that sweeps off your lens as it tries to read it)

Otherwise - it could just be that laser has degraded, or its servo is failing (preventing it from focusing on a -R layer)

Dunno otherwise?

Will it read +Rs, or + / - RWs? CD Rs work?
