and i got 16gb of ram on its way from OWC.. all thats left to order is the hard drives i was thinking of going with the 750gb samsung f1's x4 any thoughts on different drives then those? thanks in advance

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I keep seeing the performance of the 1TB drive used as an indicator of 750gb drive performance.

Aren't the platter densities totally different between the two drives? The 1tb uses 3x334gb platters and the 750 uses 3x250. I would understand saying that the 1tb performance should be similar to the 640gb or 320gb drives, but not the 750gb (or 500 or 250).

This is not to suggest that the 750 isn't a good drive, but there are two different groups of Samsung F1s with regard to platter density.
