Well, it seems like the answer to my question is overwhelmingly clear. Basically, it's not worth it (at least until the M version comes out).
I guess I will just keep my 15" then for now. I was thinking the slightly bigger screen might be good but I have used the 16" and I think it's only like .6 inches bigger bc the 15" is actually like 15.4.
Is it noticable? I think most people don't think so. When I had used it, it wasn't the biggest difference. It felt taller but that's about it.
The 15.4" screen is plenty big especially when you are on the internet browser and hit the green button to max it out.
I guess I was just hoping that maybe it has improved since I first tried it in other ways and then maybe now it would be worth the upgrade, but based on feedback I guess not.
I was concerning the same... sometimes the thing about machine as a tool it's not the same for everyone.
Someones says here: I buy a machine when can't handle the work... yeah right, but sometimes there are slightly things going slow and you don't notice.
I was having problems with the internet card of my 2012 non retina... which I maxed out as possible. im architect and use cad all day 16hrs sometimes. the machine works great. yeah... but its a 3er gen I5 and pass all the day with fans running loud. the internet problem was a dongle connect for a mouse, so got fixed but I started to fell the machine was taking time saving files (even with ssd) and I got a preeeety good opportunity for a 16" i9. I pass two weeks thinking about purchase it, even wait for the WWDC and all that and you know what? If you need the machine now, go for it.
I make the decision the day I notice that every time I saved a file, took a few second (sometimes a minute) and I take my iPhone and goes to instagram, or WhatsApp and lost 10 min there. I wasn't getting productive at all.
Everyone was waiting to June and didn't make it. Yeah maybe will came out on October... or December. nobody knows and time goes by. Maybe ones can die any moment and you didn't enjoy your thing because everybody its saying wait for a machine that nobody knows when will came out and maybe you're being unproductive right now whit that machine.
And even on that way, you can sell the machine in two years and probably you will get good money for it. I wast ready to wait two years until all apps for my career were optimizedand dealing with roseta.
And maybe I'm wrong but surely those m1 and maybe m2 will drop actualization at the same time of the very last intel machine. iPhone 1 didn't least 7 years, iPads neither, watch neither. Just with the iPhone 6s, we reach that point of 7 years upgrading.
If you need the machine, no matter if the actual powers on and can print a sheet, if you are a load worker, study your options and go for it. I didn't regret of it.
