Got the 17 pro max at launch and the battery life was insanely great. Then Apple released iOS 26.1 And honestly I was very disappointed cause my phone wouldn’t last as long. I know it’s only been a couple of days since they released 26.2 but I can already tell that the battery life is much better than 26.1, much much better.

My battery is almost consistent with 26.1. With 50% consumption, I get 5h worth of Screen-Active time. But I have lots of idle time as music is being played all day with my APP3, carplay usage without battery charge, AOD-on, etc, etc

Good for you. My 17 Pro Max on iOS 26.2 barely lasts a whole day.
Try checking what's causing this battery drain. It could simply be an app that you use often. Try also re-installing the app. This is not normal.

I have looked, but nothing really stands out. Most of the time, Safari is at the top, but nothing usually goes above 10%. I would add that Safari has been having so many issues where it just hangs and won’t load sites.

This issue with Safari is in mine as well. When you search something from the homescreen, it won't load the page or search result you asked for. You have to again tap on the address bar and then press GO to load the page.

I also notice with 26.2 on my 17 Pro Max battery life is fantastic. It performs better than my old 16 Pro Max with iOS 18.

That's unusual. Safari should not drain that much battery. Apple has made so many claims and updates to Safari in recent years. It can't be, right?. But just to be sure, you can try switching to a new browser for a couple of days and see how that goes.

I'm also seeing increased battery life on 26.2 with iPhone 17 and it fixed my CarPlay bugs.

For some reason my iPhone 16 Pro Max gets very hot on 26.2 [and abit on 26.3] when it was a thermal champ in iOS 18 lol. I regret installing iOS 26 beta so quick haha but gotta roll on.

Worst case scenario; if 27 comes out. Hand my mom the 16 Pro Max and get the 18 Pro Max [or whatever] if it has efficient thermals. as I'm seeing alot of 17 Pro Max users rave about it <3

Publicity claims that the iPhone 16 battery can last up to 22 hours, while the iPhone 17 can reach 30 hours; how is this achieved?
