According to apples site they only have one audio port that serves as either in/out. I've got both speakers and a mic with an m-audio interface that plug into my current macbook which has both ports so what is my options now if I want to buy a new pro? I HAVE to have a splitter?

Yea, but its not anything to lose sleep over.

Yeah true. Oh well, minor speed bump to owning a great computer. I'm still astonished at the price of the new 15" MBP's.

Apple confirmed that they merged the ports? Sucks for those users that want the audio-in. But most users that would "need" both are probably using an external midi device.
