it powers up, but no chime and no display!

I have a A1260MBP, it powers up, i can hear a little fan working, but there is no chime sound, no HD sound and the display isn't powering up!
1. when HD is gone bad, does it affect the display, like being blank and unable to see anything on it?
3. what type of HD is there on the A1260?
