Hello all, long time reader, first time poster.
For the past while, I've been trying to watch hockey games via TSN Broadband [I miss living in Canada where I could watch it all in HD...oh well], but it doesn't work.

Now, the unique thing about this is I can watch every other video on TSN Broadband, it's just the games that refuse to load. I'm using the latest version of Firefox, I have the latest version of Flip4Mac installed, yet the videos still won't play. When I configure Flip4Mac to play videos in the window, I just get a white screen where the video should play. When I configure Flip4Mac to play videos in Quicktime, I get "the URL is not valid."

As a last resort, I opened up Parallels to see if the games would play in Windows. And it does. I was using FF on my Windows XP VM [pretty sure it was the latest version of FF, but it might be 1.5]. TSN streams using Windows Media Player, but why is it only the games won't play on my Mac [MB 2.0, 1GB, 120GB] while every other video plays? I really would rather not use Windows to watch these videos, one reason being it's Windows, the other reason being is I would have more ram available if I could just have it playing on the Mac side.

Does anyone have any idea as to why it's doing this?
I'd also appreciate it if you could tell me if you have the same problem. The following is a link to Game 1 of the Canada/Russia Super Series.

If that doesn't play, try clicking "Highlights/Reports" and see if any of those videos play.

I'm not gonna die if I don't figure this out, because then I will just watch everything in Windows. I'd just really prefer to understand why this isn't working.

BTW: The games that I'm trying to access are NOT live. And I'm also running 10.4.10...if that helps.

Sorry for the long blab, I'd just really like to know why my Mac won't stream the games.

confirmed, not working with firefox 2.0.0.6, firefox 3.0 a8, safari 2.0.4, opera 9.22

and guess what

The game video's do not play for me. I just get a white box and a "-2048" error at the bottom next to the play button. However, the 2 '1 on 1' interviews play just fine.

*sigh* so I guess I will have to bear with Windows for the games then?
That sucks, but I'll live.

I'll just drop an email by TSN and you never know, maybe they'll fix their player so ALL videos play on a Mac.

Is there a different file type for the games or what? I don't get why some of them would work and others won't...

In the help section it says:

"Our webpages and video player are configured to only stream shows to verified Canadian intenet connections."

But that obviously doesn't explain why it works from within Windows

Try and get hold of WMP9 for Mac. I've found on a number of occasions that videos refused by Flip4Mac will quite happily work in the old player.

Only the live streams of the games are Canada exclusive. All the archived games are available to anyone in the world.

Worked perfectly! You don't know how much I was grinning when the game started to play.

Thanks a lot everyone! I REALLY appreciate it.
