Hey,

I'm currently using an older MBP, which is probably 2.5 years old. It's not really mine, it belongs to work. I've got an itch to buy a new white macbook. ;)

I'm curious if it will perform better than my MBP. The MBP specs are as follows:

Processor: 2.2 GHz
L2 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 2 GB
Bus Speed: 800 MHz
Chipset: GeForce 8600M GT
VRAM: 128MB
Hard Drive: 200 GB

I normally spend time surfing the net, watching movies, logging into work remotely and using excel/access. I'll probably use bootcamp or parallels so I can us xp as well.

What are your thoughts? Will the macbook be a nice upgrade, or perform about same?

Thanks,
PJ

I doubt Mr. Data could tell the difference between the two in performance. Love the one you're with, keep the one you've got.

Oh, and remember what my old school apple friend calls 'the first mac commandment': "Thou shalt NOT buy a revision A!"

i have a whitebook from march 09 pretty much same as the new one. yea you'll see an increase the graphic card is way better and the it has a newer CPU so it should be a lot more snappier especially with graphic intensive things

I have the same computer too lol. That one would faster because of the graphics (8600GT>>>>9400GT), but in CPU based tasks the macbook would have a slight advantage. By slight I mean barely noticeable...like 5% faster.
