I don't think I've seen a thread on this topic before, so I thought I'd pose the question (perhaps I'll add a poll to it later?). I've recently been afflicted by bug bites on my legs, probably due to my continuing choice to eschew pants, and they are quite itchy. I am treating them with hydrocortisone or zinc oxide, and I'm finding the hydrocortisone to be more effective.

What do you use for itchy or irritated skin?

The hydrocortizone should be best. Just don't scratch!

Benedryl cream is good too, until they stop itching and start healing, then some kind of antibiotic ointment.

BTW, I give my son a garlic pill everyday. Bugs hate it! After about 6 weeks of taking it daily, mosquitoes and whatever else was biting him stopped.

Well i was prescribed/given Eurax which I found just irritated me more.

I have eczema, but have learnt to just stop itching it really. Its the best thing you can do!

But maybe if you are finding them a problem see a doctor and see if there is anything stronger that will help!

See! Garlic does chase away vampires! :D
