iPod iTMS TV shows audio in mono?

Not a big deal, but I wondered if anyone else had noticed this?

I bought the first two episodes (pilots) of Lost and the pilot of Desperate Houeswives a few days ago to keep me entertained on a train trip, and watching them on my 5.5gen iPod, I noticed the audio was in mono.

Any reasons for this? Maybe a setting I've missed? If so, even less value than a DVD. UK store BTW.
