And I see there are some great changes to the workout app.

It announces miles and when you close rings as well as your pace. Very nice!

I had surgery on the 30th and it's inspired me to get back out and do some walking to lose some weight. I ate a lot of junk over the last year and it's tarted to go to my belly and I've never had a belly in all my 58 years until this last year.

A few years ago, I was walking 6-7 miles each day and I want to get back to it. Tonight, I did a 3 mile walk to get back into it. In a week, I'll get that back up to where I want it to be. I lost 15 lbs in 3 months the last time I did this and I can do it again except this time, I need to lose a bit more.

Is fitness plus worth it just for someone walking?

I don’t think so. You know what your goals are and how to achieve them so I don’t think the cost would be worth it.
In my case, I already had a plan and workouts created before I got the watch so fitness+ would be toss money down the drain.
For someone who needs more structured workout or beginning their workout/exercise regimen then it might be worth the cost.

I do a lot of walking being a dog owner and just use music on my phone and my watch to track distance etc. I used Fitness+ a while ago as we had a spinning bike at home and it was worth it for that as you got the structure of the class environment of what to do when etc but not sure its worthwhile just for walking on its own.
