I'm jumping from the iPhone 6s that was bought a day after it's release to the public. I am sure you know why I am upgrading. I would like to know what I have to look forward to.

Thank you

Upgrades
- Much Faster
- Better Battery
- Better Cameras
- True Tone
- More RAM
- More Storage
- Qi Charging
- WiFi 6
- Fast Charging
- Better Water Resistance
- Faster LTE
- Dual SIM (Nano + eSIM)
- Bluetooth 5.0

Downgrade
- No Headphone Jack

Pretty much it's the same phone just most everything is better.

Thank you. As for the lack of a headphone jack. I don't mind. I have an iPod touch I bought last year. The lack of music will leave more space

BTW, what is True Tone and Qi charging?

Wait what? Wasn't the SE updated last year? I thought the SE gets updated on a longer 3 to 4 year cadence..

Smaller iPhones seem to be going out of style, re: the poor showing of the iPhone 12 Mini. But I believe the SE will live on and be updated provided Apple does not raise the price.

True Tone changes the color temperature of the screen to match the lighting of your environment too look more natural. Warmer like with regular incandescent lights. Cooler with fluorescent or sun light. Some hate it and some love it. I think most don't notice nor care.

Qi charging is those wireless charging pads and docks. It's supposed to be more convenient as you just set the device down. The downside is slower charging and it is horribly energy inefficient. I prefer to use a wire.

AMK, Velocityg4 list is spot on in terms of the Iphone SE 2020, but you mentioned 'New SE'. We dont know for sure yet what the New SE will be, rumours indicate something resembling the Iphone XR/11 with others saying a updated 8 Plus.

I thought I would miss the home button when I went from my 8 to a 12 Mini, but after awhile swiping up to get home is just as easy. It's a matter of getting used to.

Also, there's a lot of speculation about an upcoming SE Plus. I believe the reason the current SE 2020 is popular is primarily because of its price. An SE Plus will very likely be more expensive if Apple ever decides to go with one.

I just fear it will turn out to be like the Xr/11.
This needs to happen ASAP!!! they'll sell like hotcakes with a updated design, iPhone 11 design with Touch ID in power button 😉😊 time to retire that 2015 design. 📱🗑

I suspect the SE3 will be the XR/11 design with power button touch id like you said, but with a hole punch selfie camera instead of the Face ID notch. This will probably be the iphone model that Macrumours had an article about last week, regarding an iphone model with a punch hole selfie camera.

At this point, seems like Apple didn't intend the SE to be a "small" phone. They already used a larger phone, going from the original SE to the 2020 SE. Imo the next SE would probably be in the form factor of the XR, featuring Face ID, the same single camera, and updated internals.

The SE seems to be just the "baseline" iPhone, the basics for the least amount of money.

Maybe with 2 handed operation. Nothing beats a home button for one handed operation.

Interesting, and possible as well.
Either way, the improved battery will be a huge welcome. I'm looking forward to this new SE as well. :)

Apparently, it won't be the SE. It'll be the iPhone 12. I just hope I order it right.

There’s no SE Plus happening... it was only rumoured and not by the most reliable of sources.

I knew that. I was waiting for the model name. I'm so ready for a new iPhone. I am so tired of racing to find things if I need to charge my current iPhone.
